A Scottish tam, like the French beret, is a style of hat with a flat top and extra width at the sides, so it can be styled in different ways.  It is particularly easy to wear, and suits most face shapes.  If you think you don’t look good in hats, try a tam!

This version uses traditional Scottish tam shaping and stitch patterns.  It is named for the small village of Tobermory, Ontario, where the designer was spending time when working on it.

Originally written for BC Garn Bio Shetland, it can be made with any woolen-spun, 2-ply jumper-weight yarn.  It uses two or four colours of yarn.

This pattern is free with purchase of yarn for the project - if you are checking out with yarn for this project in your cart, just add a note that you would like a free copy of this pattern.
