Cherished Fibres Yak Lace

Yak Lace has been gently washed to remove spinning oils, but not over-processed to prematurely bloom or chemically soften the fibres.

The yarn has a slightly dry hand straight off the skein, while still being very pleasant to knit or crochet with. The delicate halo will gradually develop with each wash. Finished garments and accessories made with Yak Lace are designed to age gracefully with minimal pilling over time.

The yarn can also be held double or paired with Cashmere Velvet to create a fingering-weight yarn suitable for 3.25 to 3.5 mm (US 3 to 4) needles.

For fine lace projects, a single strand of Yak Lace works beautifully on 3.25 to 3.75 mm (US 3 to 5) needles.
